Isle of Bute
Carplus awarded funds to Towards Zero Carbon Bute for a three week trial of car club cars, folding bikes and an electric bike as part of a Give Up Your Car challenge.
The car club trial was supported by Fyne Homes and operated by City Car Club and all island members participating in the programme were given a full year’s membership, which allowed them to book cars in Glasgow and Edinburgh after the trial had ended.
A steering group has now been formed to operate an extended trial with one or two cars serving employers, residents and potentially ferry users disembarking at Wemyss Bay. This proposed trial is expected to start after June, and will be operated by Bute Community Links.
