Carplus aims to develop and support a national
cooperative network of car clubs. In
the UK there are two main types of car club – large commercial operators
which focus on London and other large cities, and small community based clubs
which are mainly not for profit and often reliant on volunteers to keep going.
There are many areas in the
Carplus has set up Commonwheels Community Interest Company (what is a CIC?) to bridge the gap between these two models by offering an alternative route to a sustainable car club.
Commonwheels can offer a flexible package to these areas, providing either an entire car club operation or a selection of services including: cars, insurance, telematics and bookings systems.
