Anstruther
In Anstruther, Fife, a group of local residents have formed a new not-for-profit company to operate a car sharing club under the brand name of Shared Wheels.
The business plan of the East Fife Car Club includes the formation of a ride-sharers co-op, which will use a seven-seater Ford Galaxy to take members to St Andrews and Dundee on weekdays. It also includes a second car club vehicle, a low emission Ford Fiesta, which will be located in the centre of the community and available throughout the week.
East Fife Car Club has started to operate under a franchise agreement with operator Commonwheels with its trial operations starting in June.
